Not your ordinary bar crawl: Foodie walkabout brings food trucks ...

Do you love Houston's independent food and bar scene? Get ready to put your money (and your feet) where your mouth is.

For the second birthday of Mortar, the men's boutique is organizing MortarX2, a bar crawl down Westheimer stopping at some of the neighborhood's most popular watering holes.

The fun starts at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Hay Merchant, with subsequent visits to Anvil Bar & Refuge (also featuring Greenway Coffee) and Poison Girl before arriving at Mortar, where the party really kicks off with food trucks Oh My! Pocket Pies, The Modular and Phamily Bites, desserts from Paulie's, drinks from Grand Prize Bar and Buff Brew and live music by Poor Pilate.

All of the proceeds from your first drink at each location will benefit OKRA, the new local organization devoted to promoting Houston's growing food culture and representing the interests of independent restaurants, bars, food trucks, producers and purveyors.

Whether you are taking the crawl by foot or by pedicab (a car would be so unfashionable), you can find out what bar the crowd is at on Twitter with the hashtag #MortarX2.
