The Easy Way or the Hard Way (Choices)

Which do you personally take more often and what is your experience in choosing this. I ask because I reckon most will answer the easy way in all decisions, since it's fraught with less tension, although it can said this often has hidden strings, can't yet see. Or in case of the hard way, though most of the time the results are desirable, the hard way could be a waste of time.

Consider both this and answer.

We help the multi-nationals
when they cry out protect us.
The locals scream and shout a bit,
but we don?t let that affect us.

in case they don?t elect us.
How dare they buy our products
yet still they don?t respect us.
