DmC Devil May Cry

DmC Devil May Cry, the fifth installment in the groundbreaking Devil May Cry franchise, has just been announced by CAPCOM. The company has set a release date of January 15, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America and Europe. There are also plans for PC version but computer gamers will have to grit and bear it as that version will be released until later in 2013.

The game is currently under development by Ninja Theory who is working in direct conjunction with CAPCOM. The developer has established its name in the gaming industry with Kung Fu Chaos (released back when they were called Just Add Monsters), Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. The games have all been very well received third person action games and the developer is qualified to DmC: Devil May Cry will be, for better or worse, a complete reboot/prequel of the Devil May Cry series. It tells of a teenage Dante during a stay in Limbo City. During his time there, Dante is caught as it transforms into a demon infested metropolis. With little choice in the matter, Dante must travel through the city eradicating the abominations that wish to end his life. It doesn?t help matters either that the city is still changing and is not keen on the idea of him leaving in one piece.

The move to completely restart the Devil May Cry universe has been controversial among its fans. Not to worry, despite the revisionist approach DMC will still retain the classic fast-paced, stylish, action packed gameplay that has come to define the series. Dante will still be able to transform and has an access to an array of both melee weapons and firearms to eviscerate his foes. But CAPCOM has stated a press release for the game that DMC ?injects a more brutal and visceral edge to the franchise.? The statement is vague and CAPCOM has not elaborated on what this will entail.

The game will be fully localized and will feature complete voiceovers in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. There will also be subtitles for gamers who speak Polish, Dutch, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese. This means gamers of different tongues can enjoy performing air defying combos on enemies in their native tongues.

Gamers who want a taste of DMC Devil May Cry before its release can play an exclusive demo at this year?s E3 convention. The demo will be housed in its own booth at #1047 South Hall at the famous gaming expo. Players attending and interested in what is to come when the game is released next year are open to play it.

Come 2013, hell?s coming back and it?s time once again to push it back? with style.
