Muscat: Dr Veerendra Heggade to be Felicitated by Tuluva Community

Muscat, Sep 23: Padma Bhushan Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, is scheduled to give his first-ever visit to Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, on Tuesday September 25, under the auspices of Indian Social Club, Muscat.

Dr Heggade will be on a private visit to Oman from September 25 to Friday, September 28, during which he will be addressing people from corporate sectors and also the Indian community, focusing on various social, developmental and welfare activities initiated and implemented by him in Karnataka state during the past few decades which have become immensely popular and commendable all over India.

Over a period of time his innovative ventures have been proved highly successful in uplifting the lives of thousands of rural/urban populace in Karnataka State and have deservingly attracted innumerable national and international accolades and awards, the most prestigious being Padma Bhushan by the government of India, Karnataka Ratna citation by the government of Karnataka, Rajarishi citation from Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma, former President of India, honorary doctorates from Mangalore University, Drew University of USA, Dharwad University and Rajiv Gandhi Health University. He is also the honorary fellow of Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of the University of Glasgow, UK.

The latest feather in his cap is the International Gold Award by Ashden for Global Green Energy 2012 presented in London.

Padma Bhushan Dr Heggade is a man of outstanding credentials and a renowned visionary. The venerable Dr Hegggade is a personification of benevolence and altruism. The Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala is a leader, philanthropist, educationist, social reformer, and an emissary of art and culture. He is all combined into one. Dr Heggade?s achievements in the field of education, social welfare, medicine, art, literature, and culture are phenomenal.

Dr Heggade?s contributions to the benefit and welfare of the society have been many. The list of social services rendered by him seems to be endless. He has won renown and adoration for the simplicity of his nature and nobility of action. He has been a guardian figure and a last resort for many a suffering soul. Dr Heggade took the mantle as Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari in 1968 and ever since he has initiated and implemented several unique social welfare programmes for the society and mankind.

Dr Heggade has been successful in channelizing the immense power of Dharmasthala into an abode of welfare activities. While being modern in outlook, he retains a reverence for the culture and tradition of the land.


Felicitation from Karnataka Community

Karnataka community residing in Muscat is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Padma Bhushan Dr D Veerendra Heggade. In honour of Dr Heggade?s visit, a grand felicitation ceremony is being organized by the Tuluva and Kannada community residing in Oman on Thursday September 27 at the Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel.

Together with the felicitation, the organizing committee is all set to present a variety cultural programme consisting of Odissi Dance, Natyarpane (a fusion of different dance forms) and also a Yakshagana ballet. More than thousand admirers are expected to attend and witness this grand event. Entry is free. Doors open at 6 pm and the programme starts at 7 pm. All are cordially invited.
