When it comes to Nicki Minaj versus Hot 97, it's hard not to have an opinion. And, of course, Sunday's Summer Jam drama came up during Wednesday's (June 6) "RapFix Live."

During the special episode, MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway shared hosting duties with "Yo! MTV Raps" legends Ed Lover and Doctor Dre, who weighed in on the situation. "You can't look at anybody that crosses over and achieves pop appeal as a sellout, because that's what you're trying to do when you put a record out," Ed Lover said. "So if Nicki Minaj ain't real hip-hop, then Public Enemy wasn't real hip-hop, then Run-DMC wasn't real hip-hop, then Eminem ain't real hip-hop."

After Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg criticized Nicki's "Starships" single, suggesting the track wasn't real hip-hop, Minaj's Young Money boss Lil Wayne decided to cancel the Summer Jam performance. According to Doctor Dre, that's a no-no: The show must go on.

"First of all, Nicki Minaj was the only one who ruined 55,000 fans' expectations of the night. It has nothing to do with Rosenberg. You go out there and you perform for your fans," he said.

While Dre feels that Nicki should have performed that night, he also believes Rosenberg was out of line. "We have too many what I call 'semi-super experts' who always try to redefine hip-hop from its infancy," he argued.

In the late 1990s, Ed and Dre hosted "Yo! MTV Raps," and on Thursday, they will be the subjects of VH1's new Rock Doc "Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Raps." During their iconic run, they've interviewed artists such as 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G. and Rakim, just to name a few. They've seen many artists come and go.

"She's an artist whether I like her or I don't like her. My daughter loves her and thinks that she's the world, and that's the case," Dre said before issuing a challenge to Rosenberg. "You make your record and get in the ring and let's see how you react, whether you start to sell out or not."

Understanding Atlantic and Pacific jet stream fluctuations

ScienceDaily (June 5, 2012) ? A recent study by Bjerknes Centre scientists demonstrates the link between observed fluctuations of atmospheric jet streams and the theoretical concepts that describe why jet streams exist.

Atmospheric jet streams are fast-flowing currents of air found approximately 10 km above sea level in the extratropical regions of both hemispheres. Because these jets influence regional weather patterns, there is great interest in understanding the factors that control their path, their strength and variations in both.

Theory tells us two different dynamical processes can give rise to such jets: heating in the tropics (thermal driving) and storm activity in the the midlatitudes (eddy driving). However, how important each process is in the real world is not well known.

Theory and real-world jets

A new study by researchers at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research establishes a clearer link between theory and the real-world jets by identifying how variations in the driving processes affect the jets.

Eddy driving, which creates north-south shifts in the jet, is found to be important for both the Atlantic and Pacific jets; thermal driving, which creates changes in jet strength, is found to be equally important for the Pacific jet.

The results of this study provide an intuitive dynamical description of atmospheric variability in terms of actual ?uctuations of the jets. In addition, they have the potential to help evaluate how the jets will respond to climate changes such as global warming.

Much like a contract, the Member Control Agreement attempts to set out all the rules and procedures beforehand in an LLC, so that when something out of the ordinary happens, there is already procedure set up to deal with that matter. ?Oftentimes there can be problems between members, where one member does not quite hold up his end of the bargain. ?Members of an LLC are like partners, much like a marriage. If one member were to do whatever he wanted, such as give away all of his membership interest without telling the other members, it would be problematic. ?Without stipulated consequences or ways of dealing with such actions, there would be no way to prevent such a member from doing so, or to adequately address the situation.

Fully documenting the Member Control Agreement is a way of preventing such defection or inconsistent behavior within the agreed upon members, and if it does not prevent those actions, it determines ways in which to deal with those situations when they arise. ?There are also options regarding expulsion of members of an LLC pending conduct considered worthy of expulsion, however, that result is only allowed if it is an option under the Member Control Agreement.

Members of LLCs can vary in their individual duties relating to the corporation. ?It is often times the operating agreement, also known as the bylaws, which include the provisions about management of the business and the involvement of the members. ?Again, this is stipulated at the creation of the LLC and is typically discussed in full by the members beforehand. ?Creation, organization, and responsibilities are typically all established when the LLC is being formed, and the rules dictating the formation process vary from state to state. ?Minnesota Statute ? 322B, is the primary resource for LLC formation in Minnesota.
